Character Description : Naotaka Komatsu (Shouryu / En-ou) 
 
 He was in a sense, a prince in ancient Japan around AD 1500 but one day his father was killed when a jealous neighboring state attacked them. Left without an option, he took up the leadership role which lasted for less than 2 days. Despite that and constant persuasion by his officials to run with the people, he stayed on to fight the opposing forces so as to allow his people to escape. This act was a suicide mission which he himself and all his people knew that he will not survive, but the thought that his people will be saved led him to do his last battle. Suddenly when all his officers and soldiers were killed, those that were supposed to escape came back for their king. They were however all killed, but the thought of losing their king was more painful than death and thus we see old men taking arms to do battle and women steering the battleships. They lasted merely minutes... But that however gave Enki his chance to rescue Naotaka and bring him to the Twelve Kingdoms. Naotaka was more of a carefree man who seemed to bothered less about anything else but strangely everything was peaceful for 20 years until a jealous state lord rebelled. En-ou's officials were in panic but Naotaka was not anxious at all, they thought that there would be a great war which will result in lost of many lives, but Naotaka not only resolved it with minimum lost of his troops but also was able to rally the opposing civilians and officials to his cause! Not to mention save Enki from his prison. But because of this he lost one of his most loyal subjects. After that incident, the Kingdom of En prospered for more than 500 years and till this date is one of the most powerful nations in the twelve kingdoms although they ahve a King and Kirin that runs away from the morning meetings and sometimes even dozes off half way.... It is to note that almost all of the officials in En are deadly loyal and in full respect of him after that rebellion incident. And his laws and policies are well liked by many and a lot of people all over the twelve kingdoms flock to his nation in search of shelter and also a more peaceful place to residence. His official name in the Twelve Kingdoms is Shouryu and his title is En-ou of King of En. |
